Obama visits Winthrop University

It isn't often that we get a major presidential candidate on our campus.

But it happened yesterday morning.

Barack Obama, 46, handsome, smart and full of energy, spoke to about 800 of the faithful at McBryde Hall.

Yours truly, along with five of his students, waited in line for about 45 minutes--to no avail.

We didn't have tickets. Those that did got shuttled in front of us, so we gave up and trudged back to class.

Prediction: Obama will win South Carolina but he won't win his party's nomination for the presidency.

Let's see what happens.
