Huggable idea

Would we all be better humans if we went around giving each other (even total strangers) a big hug? Would hugs help bring out our humanity?

Food for thought.

Turn up your sound and click on the hotlink boldface headline above for a video on what might happen.

That's an interesting point.

In Brazil, women great men and other women with a kiss on the cheek. Men great other men by shaking hands or hugging.

I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact that Brazilians tend to share private information more easily than Americans do. If you talk to somebody in Brazil for 5 minutes, you already know a lot about that person's life.

Maybe kissing and hugging do bring people closer one another. But maybe we shouldn't share private information so easily.

More food for tought.

Americans tend to be overly serious. We need to lighten up.

I like the Brazilian approach to friendship.

It's funny how people (Americans at least) react to random acts of kindness in general.

Since I worked in retail this summer, I smiled and said hello to tons of people who came into the store.

I got so used to doing this that when I would have a day off and shopping in a completly different store I would smile at random people. Most of them looked at me like I was crazy!

I just wonder how people would react if I randomly walked up and hugged them since they seem to flip out when I simply smile at them haha.

Jessica,

Why don't you try it? Then we could share it in a blog.

Melanie,

Thanks for the love.
